Damaris lives with her mother in Kongo, a community about 30 minutes walk from the Havilla Children's Home. Her mother sells liquid soap to make ends meet. Her father has left them. At home, Damaris helps by washing the clothes and cleaning the house. She enjoys reading story books (her favorite one is Snow White). Damaris has 3 brothers and 2 sisters, of which she is the 4th. Her favorite scripture is Romans 8:37 which says, 'No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loves us.' To her, this means, "Whenever you're in a difficult time, know you are completely victorious because of Jesus."
