History

In 2007, Lanny Donoho (founder of BigStuf Camp, Big Stuf Productions and The 410 Bridge) had the idea to bring over an African children's choir as a part of the ministry of The 410 Bridge. For almost two years, The 410 Bridge had been serving specific communities in Kenya and sending teams of committed Americans to build long-term relationships in those communities. Now, it was time to make this bridge work both ways and bring our Kenyan friends to the U.S.!

Over the course of the year, we encountered challenge upon challenge; trying to get the first choir into the U.S. Finally, after months of hard work and governmental hiccups, the first Daraja Children's Choir arrived in late July 2007. Singing at BigStuf camp for the remainder of the summer, the choir then traveled for a month in the southeast U.S., worshipping God and igniting a passion for action in the lives of so many people!

We are excited to see the impact of the Daraja Children's Choir on both sides of The 410 Bridge. We believe that as we connect and serve each other cross-culturally, that God is glorified and the body of Christ is made stronger. We have already seen church healing and life-transformation, including reconciliation and healing across racial and denominational lines. We can't wait to see what God is going to do next!
